Welcome to The Morning Sh*t! Slip me a $20 and watch me drop my tiny briefs.
1 st Wipe : Trump hates Chinese money because every time he spends it, he’s greedy again in an hour.
2 nd Wipe : Fiat gives Magneti Marelli a kiss on the cheek.
3 rd Wipe : British cars failing. Like, financially this time.
4 th Wipe : Peugeot still appreciates Vauxhall for helping make French cars look reliable.
5 th Wipe : Goodyear covered up faulty RV tires for over 20 years. But I thought RV owners were supposed to cover up their tires.

Some limited amount of economic protectionism is ok (or even morally necessary) during short-term periods of disruption — that gives workers time to change jobs, increase education, etc.
But this China thing is so entrenched in our economy, we’re fighting the wrong battle. We need to be exposing things like currency manipulation, lax environmental laws, and worker protections so we can let US consumers and business partners put pressure on China the right way. Not this government interference.

Exposing them? Is there anybody who doesn’t know they do that shit? Apparently there are, but there shouldn’t be.

I think so, we’re mostly all aware that China is a little shady, but there aren’t many people taking up the cause that what China does (eg eroding workers’ rights or weak environmental practices) endangers the US and the world the way it does. We’re all short-term thinkers, including politicians and business leaders. And even the economists who make people believe that free trade is 100% good all the time, just because the net benefit is positive in the aggregate . I think there are better, more symbiotic ways to raise wealth and health in both nations, but it won’t be through trade wars or free trade (which are polar opposites, yet the GOP seems to beat both drums).
